Ken Hoffman's Biography

Ken Hoffman is a retired software developer for the financial industry.  He teaches public history courses in the Jacksonville, Florida area.  His primary area of knowledge is American history from the 16th through 19th centuries with a special focus on the antebellum U.S. and the American Civil War.  He also teaches topics in European history.  Having a strong interest in various types of music since his teens, Ken also teaches music appreciation courses on jazz and classical music.
  
Before moving from his home state of New Jersey to Florida in 2004, Ken earned a B.A. in philosophy from Fairleigh Dickinson University.  After moving to Jacksonville, Ken completed twenty four credits towards a Master's degree in American history at the University of North Florida.  He teaches history courses for the general public at the Jacksonville Public Library and through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UNF.
